Paul W.S. Anderson is Directing the Buck Rogers Movie in 3D: "
Buck Rogers

Way back in late 2008, a few weeks before Frank Miller's The Spirit flopped big time, it was announced that Miller would go on to direct a live-action 'revamp' of the classic sci-fi hero Buck Rogers. After later seeing The Spirit, I hoped this would never actually happen, because after seeing that awful movie, I wanted Miller to never direct anything again. Well, while this should be good news, it's not entirely that good, as Deadline is now reporting that instead of Frank Miller, we'll have Paul W.S. Anderson directing the Buck Rogers movie in 3D (of course). Anderson has already 'locked a deal' to direct the new version of the classic sci-fi.

The only good news is that Iron Man and Punisher: War Zone writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway will write the script. First introduced in 1928 as a comic serial, Buck Rogers tells the tale of a fighter pilot who quickly acclimates to the future and puts his skills to use defending the planet against invaders. This isn't being produced by a studio, it is being developed independently by Anderson and Paradox Entertainment, who owns the Buck Rogers rights. No word on how soon this will be ready to go, but it could be ready next after Anderson finishes The Three Musketeers movie (also in 3D) that he will start shooting later this year.
