For quite some time Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson have been great friends, but haven't managed to make a movie together, until now. However, they won't exactly be appearing on-screen together as EW's Hollywood Insider says they will voice two animated turkeys, Reggie and Brock, who find a time machine and travel back to the first Thanksgiving to take themselves off the menu. The film is aptly titled Turkeys and will also feature Luke Wilson's vocal talents as well. I have high hopes for this one as it comes from director Ash Brannon who was responsible for two of my favorite animated films Surf's Up and Toy Story 2.
Peter Farrelly (one half of the Farrelly Brothers duo) is executive producing and was extremely excited about it. 'I flipped out about the concept for Turkeys and started yapping about the possibilities. I guess I kind of glommed on.” Turkeys is the first project for Bedrock Studios, a newly formed company that Walden Media executive Cary Granat and former ILM executive Ed Jones started to create family films in the under-$35 million range. This concept sounds really cool and has great comedic possibilities. If you haven't seen Surf's Up, I recommend checking it out as it's an entertaining animated film in the form of Christopher Guest's traditional mockumentaries combined with beautiful animation and the voice talents of Shia LeBeouf, Jeff Bridges and Zooey Deschanel. No word on when this will be released so stay tuned for more updates.
