The Disappearance of Alice Creed Trailer

Before British actress Gemma Arterton was being given big Hollywood roles (Prince of Persia, Clash of the Titans) she starred in various British indie films, including this one. The Disappearance of Alice Creed was the last film I saw at the Toronto Film Festival last year but is still one film that has stuck with me ever since (read my review). It's somewhat of a thriller about two guys who kidnap a girl for ransom, but plan out everything meticulously, and it would've gone off without a hitch if — well, you'll see what happens in the trailer. Thankfully this doesn't give away too much, as it still is just a UK trailer for now. Check it out.

Watch the UK trailer for J Blakeson's The Disappearance of Alice Creed:

Two men fortify a nondescript British apartment so it can serve as a prison, then kidnap a woman and tie her to a bed. Before there's even time to react, we're plunged into a nasty situation, but not a simple one.

The Disappearance of Alice Creed is written and directed by up-and-coming British filmmaker J Blakeson, who made his feature debut on this after a few shorts. This first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and also showed at the London Film Festival. Anchor Bay Entertainment is distributing this in the US but hasn't started up any of their marketing yet. They're bringing The Disappearance of Alice Creed to limited US theaters starting on June 11th later in the summer, although that date could change.
