While you would think that with her sinking career she might have already been tossed of the success ship, THR reports Jennifer Lopez is looking to star in the remake of the 1987 romantic comedy Overboard. The original film starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and directed by Garry Marshall followed a snooty, spoiled woman who falls off her yacht and is taken to the hospital by a local, morally challenged carpenter. When she wakes up with amnesia, he convinces her she is his wife, thereby gaining a free new housekeeper for his four boys. Personally I don't think there is anything romantic or funny about this. It's just pure evil!

Lopez has been struggling since Gigli, but she's never really had any great films before that. The only ones I can recall immediately that I enjoyed were Out of Sight and Jack (yes, the one starring Robin Williams as a man-child which was directed by, are you ready for this, Francis Ford Coppola). Unfortunately things aren't looking up, as her new film The Back-Up Plan looks like it was a back-up plan itself since she hasn't been getting any decent roles. Maybe she can turn it around with this remake which hot writers Adam Cooper and Bill Collage (their scripts for Moby Dick, Marco Polo, Tower Heist and more have all sold recently) scripted along with Leslie Dixon (Mrs. Doubtfire, Hairspray, The Heartbreak Kid). Anyone miss J. Lo at all?
